Associate Professor

The Computer Technology Laboratory III was established due to the increasing demand for numerical calculations, especially in new subjects. The laboratory has 12 + 1 computers connected to the Internet. Various subjects requiring higher computing power are taught here. The room has a large number of seats, so it is also used for various seminars and bilateral meetings. Laboratory software: ProgeCAD and gEDA design systems, Keysight VEE Pro virtual engineering environment for data collection, analysis, and measurement control, EMTP ATP simulation programs, Matlab, Octave, FEMM for scientific and technical numerical calculations, modeling, algorithm design, computer simulations, data analysis and presentation, signal measurement and processing, control and communication system design, EPLAN and Cenkros software tools.

Subjects and learning outcomes:

  • Bachelor's degree: Subject: Measurement in Electrical Engineering (basic knowledge of measurement theory and metrology, determination of measurement uncertainties, practical skills in performing measurements in electrical engineering and processing measurement documentation)
  • Bachelor's degree: Subject Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering (basic knowledge and skills in the field of DC circuit design, creation of technical documentation)
  • Bachelor's degree: Subject: Transmission and Distribution of Electrical Energy (basic knowledge of transmission and distribution of electrical energy, competence in calculating the parameters of electrical lines of all voltage levels)
  • Bachelor's degree: Subject: Lighting Technology (basic knowledge for creating the right lighting environment for various work and leisure activities)
  • Bachelor's degree: Subject: Fundamentals of Design in Electrical Power Engineering (Extended knowledge in the field of design in electrical power engineering. Competence in the use of progeCAD, EPLAN, and Cenkros software tools for the preparation of project documentation.)
  • Master's degree: Subject: Electromagnetic Compatibility (basic knowledge and understanding of EMC technical equipment and biological systems, the origin and propagation of electromagnetic interference, eliminating the impact of interference on electronic equipment, the effects of impulse phenomena in low-voltage networks on electronic equipment, principles of printed circuit board design with regard to electromagnetic immunity, methods of shielding and grounding electronic equipment).
  • Engineering studies: Subject: Overvoltage in electrical networks (acquiring knowledge about the occurrence of overvoltage in electrical networks for various operating conditions, using the correct terminology and symbols, acquiring professional skills in the use of PC technology and software to solve overvoltage occurring in operation using the EMTP ATP simulation program)
  • Engineering studies: Subject: Quality and reliability of electricity supply (basic knowledge of electricity quality indicators, based on problem-oriented examples, acquiring knowledge about the occurrence and consequences of deteriorated electricity quality and about the possibilities of improving it) Students will also gain knowledge in the field of electricity supply reliability, methods of its calculation and methods of its evaluation.
  • Engineering studies: Subject Modeling in Electrical Power Engineering (basic knowledge of modeling elements of the power system)
  • Engineering studies: Subject Power System Operation Control (basic knowledge of new directions in power system control in a liberalized electricity market)
